Meme of the day
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
In her her journal entry today,
magdalene put out a call for "mondegreens". I've already posted a couple in response and two more just occurred to me over second lunch. Rather than continuing to burden her journal, I thought I'd post them here.
Eurythmics "Here Comes the Rain Again"
Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a newt in motion.
Talking Heads "Psycho-Killer"
I could never figure out the French part. Here's what I always sing:
Sic can I be sesquoila
Sic je ma vie sesquoila
Rayo dissant Monespa
Gerbil lancers belle est quoi---o-o-okay!
A friend told me the last line is actually "Je me lance vers le feu." Whatever!

Ce que j´ai fais, ce soir la
Ce qu´elle a dit, ce soir la
Realisant mon espoir
Je me lance, vers la gloire ... OK
Which I would translate as:
"What I did tonight
What she said tonight
Realising my hope
I propel myself to glory...OK"
For fun, see what Babblefish has to say!
[I'm assuming fais is a typo for fait, 'cause otherwise the VP contains two finite verbs, which just ain't kosher. Réaliser translates "realise" in the sense of "make real", though there's no guarantee a non-native speaker like David Byrne is using it correctly.]
But I'll always prefer "jerboa lancers".
hehehe
Is that anything like Ant Cowboys (I mean aphidboys.)
?
Just wondering, I'm having a problem with Unwelcome Farming Ants.

Say something French, David Byrne!
Say something else, David Byrne!
