Tidbits

  • The other day I learned that the way I've always said août (namely [au]) is completely wrong for Standard French (where it is [u], more rarely [ut]), but usual for Louisiana French. You see, when it comes to Cajun French, I'm a natural!
  • All day I've been trying to remember the lyrics to the German version of "I Touch Myself" I used to sing to myself all the time a year ago. It's maddening! I can't even remember the first line.

I've never KNOWN how to pronounce that word. How have YOU been pronouncing it?

Hehehe, I didn't know there was a German version of "I Touch Myself." I tried to sign the song for my ASL class in college and my instructor told me it was inappropriate.

Like I said, I say [au].

I don't know if anyone's recorded a German version of "I Touch Myself". I made up my own and apparently didn't write it down anywhere. I recall I shifted the meanings around a bit in order to make it rhyme, but I can't remember what I went with.

Sorry, I missed that initially, somehow. Anytime I THINK I get French orthography something like this pops up. :: laugh ::

Well you can always try to REtranslate it. And then post it here. ^_-

I know! Isn't it fun? I just learned that but often has a final [t] as well. (In LF it doesn't, but bout does--and is feminine to boot!)
