[The following is my first ever mash note to a performer I saw live. Ah, the beauty of writing in a foreign language--I can't really hear how utterly naff I sound!]

Dw i wedi prynu un o'ch CDs, ond oedd yn rhy hwyr i gael ei llofnodi. Efallai allet ti anfon llun llofnodedig ata i. Yn topless. (Dwi'n cellwair 'da ti wrth gwrs. Ond dim rili.)

Is that really how you say "pretty please" in Welsh? I'm delighted

The traditional expression for "please" is os gwelwch/gweli yn dda, lit. "if you/y'all see well". But as this is somewhat wordy, plîs seems to replace it in informal contexts. (I've seen a similar tendency in Continental languages with English "sorry" substituting for such traditional expressions as Dutch het doet me leed.) As for the "priti", it seemed like the kind of silly joke you might hear in a bantering context.

(As a side note, Google "priti plîs". The results are amusing; the fact that this journal entry is at the top of them is astounding.)
