Happy Unniversary, Sweetheart!

Eight years ago today, monshu invited me into this apartment, sat me down on his leather sofa, and told me he was dumping me for another man.

He's still trying to make it up to me.

The lengths he went to this year included a dozen pinky-orange roses ("It was the closest to salmon they had!"), smoked oysters wrapped in bacon, more pork, kir royal, sage-scented massage oil, and more...er...pork. (2+2=4. Yippee!!)

Here's hoping that day eight years ago was the last time he'll ever try to get rid of me! (So far, I've outlasted the other man and the leather sofa. With any luck, soon I'll have outlasted the apartment!)

It is a strange and inexpressibly delightful thing to have been once dumped, and then taken back after reconsideration, by your beloved. It's almost unfair that we then get to use that delight as a delicate, downy-soft club to beat them with whenever we like.
