Quotes from last night's dinner

• Me (to maître d'): "I'm meeting some friends. One of them is a big bald guy with a goatee...but not that one there!"
• spookyfruit: "I saw one today who was a scroll-up." (welcomerain explained that "scroll-down" on Fugly.com refers to pictures of outfits that are attractive enough on top but one must scroll down to see the fugliness.)
• Hand-lettered sign on back wall: "IF THE FIRE EXITS ARE BLOCKED, IT WILL MEAN THE END OF THE WORLD." (Illustrated with a drawing of the globe with a mushroom cloud rising from it.)

(The dinner itself was basically what I expected at Navy Pier: A lot of money for mediocre food. At least the slaw was decent.)

A self-explanatory proverb, no? Note that, as with the previous phrase, English negates the pronoun whereas Persian negates the verb, i.e. كس نخارد kas nakhārad lit. "(a) person does/will not scratch". In positive sentences, كس kas can have the meaning of "someone, somebody".
