Bear flu

Fuck me.

I've got a nasty case of the bear flu: Sore throat (typically from introducing foreign objects into the mouth; in my case, it could just be from yammering), general aches and pains (many related to Nutts to Butts on Sunday), gastric distress (all that sausage!), and mental exhaustion. However, I've avoided the usual headache (no brown liquor and plenty of water!) and heartbreak ("Sometimes it's hard to be an otter/Giving all your love to just one bear") that accompanies the illness.

So I'm going home. (Actually, I'll probably be going to monshu's home, since it's closer, and then continuing on to my home when I feel like yesterday's warmed over crap.) So further updates today are unlikely. I really, really do want to thank everyone who made this past weekend so fantastic--and what more validating way to do that than by ennumerating them in my LJ? In my addled state, I'm chary of omitting and, thus, offending anyone, so I'll preface this with a weasly blanket disclaimer: If I leave you out, it doesn't necessarily mean I hate you. Maybe I just don't know your LJ handle. Or maybe I just can't access those memories involving you right now. Maybe I do hate you. In fact, even if I do mention you, it doesn't necessarily mean that I like you, just that I'm grateful for your contribution to my excessive spurt of hedonism. Pat yourselves on the back!

vianegativa, I'm glad I made it to the CellBlock, or I wouldn't have seen you at all. Thanks for introducing me to your buddies and I'm a putz for not remembering their aliases. ombraorsa, good to see you're back in town. Interesting to run into you and aadroma after the dance and meeting blithwulf at long last. I hope your friend is safely home now and feeling better. aadroma, we should talk a lot more about comics (and everything else), but, in the meantime, Ralf König!

grunter, you almost singlehandly made the dance for me. Kisses to you and your sweetie! If you bitch about this year not living up to your expectations, I will personally pimp slap you silly! tbearpsy, you're even more charming and witty in person than online. Who knew? Same goes for iberianbear--hope you found your roomie and got some sleep (though if you didn't, it would explain your absence at Sidetrack yesterday; too bad, since I was looking forward to a conversation at normal decibel levels). Oh, and tbearpsy, thanks for introducing me to dorbear, who seems like good people--and who shouldn't be self-conscious about his entries, which are nothing to apologise for. He's just the kind of guy the CroSuit™ ottr4bear and I are designing will be made to capture.

I should thank ottr4bear, Rubeus, Nuphy, Swiss Miss, Monshu, Cracker, Evil Santa, Mr Brown, and the rest of my regular circle of friends for surrounding me with warmth and enjoyment. Also, Paul, Tommy, Bill, Gary, Mike, and sundry other relics from my wild days. It was great to see Camper--if sad to hear about his breakup--and I was thrilled to see the Brazilians again. Jody, Jerry, Salvatore, Matt3 (I'm collecting them, y'know), Rich, L. William and John, etc.--well met and hope to see more of y'all. Oh, and mad kisses to tall, dark, and handsome (you know who you are).

Well, I guess I've pretty much outed myself to the LJ bear community at this point. I'll get to all the Friending later, since response is for shit today. (bradfitz, I'm happy you're exciting about the upcoming improvements to LJ. I'm thrilled by improved performance. But you know what I like even better? ANY PERFORMANCE AT ALL! grumble grumble ptooey!)
