Not bright

Lately I've been musing on monshu's near-infinite patience with my little fuck-ups (like overloading the shower rod or forgetting to lock the back door). In fact, yesterday I was wondering to myself How am I screwing up now? Then bedtime rolled around and I realised I hadn't brined the pork chops like I'd promised to, so I went to the fridge and didn't find them. I went through it again and again, despite the fact that it's been recently cleaned (by somebody AWESOME) and there's really no way to hide a pack of twelve loin chops in it anymore. I checked the freezer as well, then cast about to see if we'd done something comically stupid like left them out overnight.

I slept badly (those chicken sliders yesterday were definitely a mistake) and woke up crazy early. So I went upstairs and asked the Old Man if he knew where our pork was only to find he was as baffled as me. When I woke up again (less than half-an-hour before I needed to leave for work) I pondered when I had last seen them. I remembered distinctly putting them into a plastic bag and slipping them into the canvas bags we brought. Or maybe I just imagined the last part? Maybe they got left in the plastic bag frame at Dominicks? At least there's still plenty of soup.

Nach dem zu urteilen, was du gerade in linguaphiles gepostet hast, bist du eben sechs Jahre älter. Aber ich darf die Schuld nicht meinem Alter geben, da ich mich so benehme, seitdem er und ich zum ersten Mal zusammengekommen sind!
