Social blitz
It was going to be a nice, quiet weekend: dinner out tonight, drinks and Touché tomorrow, massage and dinner out Sunday. It will still begin and end quietly, but the middle is exploding like a smore in the microwave. Here's how things have played out:
- I ask Le Lutin if I can invite his friends over Saturday night in order to repay their hospitality to me in Montreal.
monshu quite understandably begs off. - To ensure a successful get together, I invite along Coleman (who
monshu can't stand) and Nuphy, both of whom are friendly with Le Lutin and speak French. - Le Lutin flips out. (Through the grapevine, I have learned that his friends have since cancelled their visit in any case. Whatever.)
- Upon hearing this,
monshu offers to host my friends for dinner and cocktails. Independently, Tuppers offers to take me out to dinner and Coleman insists taking me to SoFo for drinks later. - Touched at being so wanted, I accept all offers.
- For
monshu's sake, I exclude Coleman from dinner plans, inviting only Nuphy and Tuppers. - Tuppers begs off dinner because he and Nuphy are colleagues and he's not comfortable seeing him socially. He can't stand Coleman either, so he doesn't want to meet us for drinks later.
- Independently, good lesbian friends of ours ask if they can meet up with us at the Korean Street Festival Saturday morning.

I think you have mapped out the ultimate GRE logic puzzle question.
I was so taken by the complexity of your problem that brain melted and all I can say in response:...." I used to roast marshmallows in the microwave as a child... they used to triple in size and....
I know, not helpful. ...
