Drunk cooking
It was terribly sweet of Tuppers to bring a 750 ml bottle of Blanche de Chambly with him on Saturday night because he'd once heard me praise the products of Unibroue. And it's a shame I'm not more of a drinker since even after sharing it with him we still had several ounces left that would be flat by morning. "I'll use it make oatmeal!" I told
monshu, half joking. Well, today the joke was on me.
Never let it be said I don't learn from my mistakes, because this time I watched that damn pot like a helicopter parent. The texture was good; wish I'd had more time to enjoy it. I also wished I had time to add a spot of honey. (I grabbed for the little bear, but his head was hopelessly congested.) The bitterness wasn't unpleasant, but I think it would've been more palatable balanced with a touch of sweetness.
