muckefuckStill trying to shake the listlessness which I brought back from Florida with me. The Fourth was a write-off--both of us still recovering from our twelve-hour travel day on Saturday. Dale's storming out of the bar provided me with a perfect excuse to get to bed early, but unfortunately the pub grub kept me awake until nearly two. monshu the Prudent tackled a variety of errands and chores, but it was all I could do to get some watering done outside once I saw that nature was again going to let me down.
The cat was, of course, deliriously happy to see us. We'd hardly been home a half hour before he attacked my hand with both front claws and teeth. He kept mewing outside computer room until I went to investigate. Near as I could tell, he was upset that the toilet lid was down, so I flipped it up. A little while later, I caught him perched on the bowl, wetting his paws. Sunday he absolutely gorged on attention, coming up to me again and again as I slept in massively in the morning and turning tomonshu for cuddles in the evening until I came back.
Socially, I had left a lot up in the air until I got back. I thought I'd be eager to tackle it after a week of family fun, but I haven't yet been able to tap my inner butterfly. Hopefully that will change before this weekend. I haven't called anyone, haven't read much, haven't really done anything besides view clips on YouTube. My Dad gave me a copy of Wired magazine containing an article on how the Internet is destroying our ability to concentrate. I should get around to reading it one of these nights...
