(Which still sounds odd to me, but that construction does get some Google hits, as does the obvious rearrangement "* spielte gegen * unentschieden". Perhaps if I talked about sports more, the construction would sound more natural to me. As it is, I'd probably say "Das Spiel England gegen Algerien ist unentschieden ausgegangen.")

Based on a crawl through Taiwanese sports sites, I think the example in 10 is something like 英格蘭踢平了阿爾及利亞 or perhaps 英格蘭戰平了阿爾及利亞—though I might be off on the placement of the 了 (it's something I'm still getting a feel for).
