Outsmarted again!
I've got to hand it to that
monshu, he sure is a sly one! He knew I was going to miss him terribly for the few days he was away--I've never spent a night in this house without him here before. So what did he do to help me cope? He fed me spicy sausages! Of course I didn't believe his story about accidentally picking up the wrong package. I mean, who could honestly miss the word "HOT!" in a giant sunburst right there on label? I just didn't see the Machiavellian plan lurking behind it.
But it started to dawn on me about 11:30 last night, sitting up in bed bleary-eyed but unable to lie down. I had foreseen feeling a pang of melancholy upon gazing at his beatific face but instead it was a seething resentment at his infallible talent for falling asleep nearly instantly, no matter what. And after that short fitful night, I'm still too utterly exhausted to even notice he's gone! It'll be tomorrow evening before I'll have the capacity to miss him properly, and by then his absence will be halfway over.

"seething resentment at his infallible talent for falling asleep nearly instantly"
When my older brother helped me move this past December, he conveyed he has never had any trouble falling asleep, and then promptly did so on a make shift bed. I took it like the sullen middle child insomniac that I am.
