Responding to a request to say grace with "Grace!" was frowned upon, as was Dad's occasional suggestion of "Grace in kitchen / Grace in the hall / For gracious sakes / don't eat it all!"

The only grace I remember is "Heer, zegen ons en ook deze spijzen, die uwe milde hand ons geeft. Door Christus onze Heer. Amen." And yes, it's all one word, just like yours.
Skimming through that catechism, I realized I can still recite the rhyming version of the ten commandments. It took me years to realize onkuisheid didn't mean failing to clean your house...
