Note: So Dad was admitted to the ER last night complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath. So far, all the test results have been normal, but they kept him overnight for observation and he's got a stress test scheduled for this morning. His wife is fairly put out with him for driving the whole way up himself even once he noticed he was having problems, which he didn't mention to her until they were in town. I probably won't visit him there but it looks like we'll be brunching this Saturday.

As for the Dutch, I've never heard that phrase. I would probably use spoeddienst, spoedgevallendienst, or spoedgevallen. I've also heard people shorten it even more to just spoed. If I were trying to sound official I might use the more Dutch-sounding eerste hulp.
