There are things in this world that are wrong, and there are others that are so wrong, they're right. Some novelty covers provide a refreshing break while only serving to underline the inviolable genius of the original version. And then there are those which all but make me forget the original exists.

In general, I'm not too picky about pop star vocals. After all, I was a huge Robert Smith fan back in the day. But there are some voices I simply can't stand. Jimmy Corrigan's, for instance, which is a damn shame given the calibre of his musicianship. In comparison, my dislike of Liam Gallagher's croaky vocals is a tragedy of much more modest dimensions; still, it helps explain my love for these two Oasis covers.

First, "Don't Look Back In Anger", as covered by England's all-time finest "scrumpy-and-western" band:

Now I know "Wonderwall" covers are a dime-a-dozen, but I still haven't found another to match the perverse brilliance of the Mike Flowers Pops' loving homage to my earliest musical memories:

Mike Flowers Pops is awesome - thanks for introducing to them! This version of Wonderwall is so wrong! Paul Anka did a big band/swing cover that I liked, but this is more, as you put it so nicely, perverse.

It's the level of craftsmanship I admire. Every little wrong detail is so carefully thought out and lovingly presented.

Sadly, the only other song I've been able to find from them on the net is, "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina", which takes the wrong into a different decade.
