well, this is what you get when you try to represent a pashtun name with french orthography.

well it looks like the last name is persian. i initially thought the last name was pashtun as well because i'd never come across it. after googling, it seems that zariab goes back to avesta and is definitely persian, though it must be much more popular with afghans than iranians.

the first name is definitely pashtun though. persian syllables can't begin with a consonant cluster, which should be your first hint.

My first instinct was Spokanian, FWIW; the name seemed to have some of its feel.
