I'm having one of those mornings where I feel like a total spaz. Running for the shuttle this morning set the tone. For a while I thought it was just a case of not having a proper breakfast, so I went out for juice and bacon from the nearest café. On the way there, I was nearly run down by a runaway cyclist. On the way back, I got stuck behind a cluster of clueless tourists. I had to ask every person individually to please step aside so I could pass them. One especially bovine prospie had to be asked three times; she just kept regarding at me as if she couldn't figure out what the strange man wanted and didn't particularly care to.

That's it; I'm not going out again until all the people are gone.

ETA: Oh why didn't I think to bring my lunch today? DIE IN A FIRE, ALL OF YOU!

AETA: For the first time ever, I handed a disgruntled patron a complaint form and the name and number of my supervisor. For what good it will do her, the spoiled little TPU.

After my third near-death experience involving a cyclist on a sidewalk in NYC I vowed always to carry an umbrella with me.

Perhaps it's a good thing that my memory was always weaker than my rage.

I'm hoping that hard times will get the city to start enforcing bicycle law and fine the folks who ride on the sidewalks, or who don't use headlights and taillights at night. "Revenue enhancement" as we said back in the '70s.

Yeah, I haven't figured this out. After all, this is a city that milks drivers for cash every chance it gets and then some. Do they think cyclists are just dirty hippies without enough pennies to chase?

There, there. Have a nice cup of coffee. It will make you feel better.

Honestly, that's the last thing I need. It turns me into a spazz even when I'm feeling normal.

Do you eschew all stimulants? Tea makes me feel calm and focused. (But I can't drink it before 1pm or it will make me barf.) Coffee is happy and woo hoo! But pseudoephedrine gives me heart palpitations and makes me want to jump out of my skin. No decongestants for me.

Nach tú atá cruachroíoch! Murach iad, ní bheadh post agat, tá's agat. Ach tuigim duit. Agus... tá mé díreach tar éis caipirinha mór a chríochnú. Tá súil agam go bhfuil an méid seo scríofa i gceart! ;-)
