Today I woke up at 8:15 and was into work bang on time, showered, decently attired, and partly breakfasted forty-five minutes later. No plans to repeat the experience any time soon, however.

I am confused as to how you arrived at work before any of the pre-work activities and by the 8:15 wake up. That seems so late!
