First of the month! I was hoping to have a ritual Changing of the Furnace Filter with monshu present, but he fell asleep during Project Runway, so the pleasure is all mine. (Sure, it'll be old hat by, I dunno, November 1, but right now it gives me a little new homeowner thrill.)

Our inspector recommended changing them monthly instead because it puts less strain on the blower.
