What is it with the weather? I want it to be fall and it's still summer. The night of the equinox was comfortably cool and breezy, but still humid. Today, the forecast high is 80℉ (27℃). In the evening, the metallic singing of the insects still builds to a screeching din and it's difficult to tell which trees are actually changing and which just had a hard summer; there were an alarming number dropping brown leaves back in August, several of which may not be back next year. Two or three sugar maples on campus are sporting colours, but the bulk are biding their time and the late summer flowers haven't been told to quit yet.
