I'm such a doofus, I thought
monshu had gotten rid of all his tea when really it was unpacked and sitting in the cabinet all this time. A good thing, too--one of my co-workers gave us some mooncakes and it was just the thing to wash them down with. You should've seen the Old Man delighting in the appropriateness of us sipping 密香茶 brought back from China and nibbling red bean and winter melon cakes while listening to the sound of rain falling on the veranda.
Rain fell the whole day and only stopped a little while ago. So far, there's been no effect on our basement, which is mystifying, but I think the change in weather has taken its toll on our constitutions: Both
monshu and I were a tad sniffly at dinner and it may be only a matter of time now before we're both fighting off colds, if that time isn't already upon us. He turned in early and I cuddled next to him in bed and read aloud Irish poetry. I was trying to see if he'd pick up on sound patterns that were eluding me, but he was out before I'd read more than two stanzas.
