Interesting bit of info... Prior to the end of the 19th century, the roots for twenty, thirty, forty, etc. were based on the words for three, four, five, etc. respectively.

I guess they considered the 1-10 the first group of 10, 11-19 was the second group, the twenties were the third, and so on.
