Yay, dumplings! My Chinese coworker brought me a Ziploc bag of homemade jiaozi that somebody (v. vague on this pt.) had given her. Fortunately, I always have a pair of chopsticks handy (that's me--where Boy Scout and foodie collide!) so I was able to scarf them down in the staff lounge. SO YUMMY!

So, given that the sleet has now become a full-fledged blizzard, how crazy on a scale from "1" to "batshit" would it be to go ahead with my plans to jaunt down to the Container Store tonight and buy a couple pieces? On the plus side, I'm guessing there won't be a lot of other customers. On the down side, getting a cab back could be problematic. Thoughts?

Is there ever really a *bad* time to go to the Container Store?

Not many customers, but good luck getting a cab! I'll think of you while I make a dessert for New Years dinner and sip a scotch as I look out the window at all the snow!

I spent 45 minutes trying to get a cab to stop for me last Thursday night when we got the initial 5 or so inches of snow. If I were you, I'd wait till later on Thursday or Friday to do a Container Store run.

I'm trying to decide whether it will be worth it to drive to Pekin tomorrow morning for an 11 a.m. hearing. I'm getting conflicting reports everywhere about the severity of the snow.

I had to actually say the subject line out loud to understand what it was meant to convey. ;)

If I want to have a hard time understanding the dialogs in an Asterix book, I can read the French version, too!

Interesting; I would have been tempted to spell that last word "aaluege", but Google finds five times as many hits for your spelling.

Shows how familiar I am with that particular dialect group!
