monshu is taking me out to dinner tonight and then we're going back to his place. I'm staying over because we have to be at the Chinese Consulate bright and early tomorrow morning to get visa'd. So I had to check over my bag twice to make sure I had everything I needed: Passport, passport photos, application form, iPod (so I can add the new Shins CDs b & e got for me), and so forth.

All I forgot was my pants. It's like I'm made of win.

I think only one of you actually has to go to the consulate. IIRC, I got both my and prilicla's visa. (Though of course togetherness for its own sake should never be discouraged.)

Visa or reincarnation application?

Visasare one thing but we might also apply for permission to reincarnate to the Ministry of Religious Affairs since the new law takes effect Sept. 1 requiring that anyone planning to reincarnate as a "living buddha" needs the government's permission, must submit an application, and pay a tax. We could kill 2 birds with one stone as it were--forgive the very un-Buddhist metaphor.

I drove over to Austin to look for a job, and suddenly I can find my pants all the time: in fact, usually they are on my body. Lame.

I seldom forget my pants when they are actually on my body. (I'd like to say "Never", but I'm sure that would bite me in the ass almost immediately.)
