Keeping up appearances

XRT's Lin Brehmer hasn't had a lot to say about the Series so far; I guess LaSorda's appeal to the bigger baseball fan inside him is having trouble piercing his Chicago Cub fan exterior. But he couldn't ignore commenting on the spectacular error by Rodney last night:

Do you know that Tigers pitchers have four errors so far? They've got to stop throwing the ball over the first baseman's head. Forget for a moment that it blew the game; it just looks bad.

I'm still giddy this morning; must be lack of sleep. I saw a man in a White Sox windbreaker on the train this morning and it was all I could do to hold myself back from asking him, "Hey, how about that Ordóñez?"

Well, how do you expect a guy to get a hit if he's weighed down with all that diacritical bling?

Seriously, though, this is becoming painful. The only joy I get out of it is every so often (like, once an error), turning to kaynorr and asking "Just how did these guys blank the Yankees, again?" That and reflecting that it's probably good for the sport for the NL to win once in a while, if only because they don't use the DH rule.
