Do you know what it's like to be out somewhere and suddenly experience the sinking feeling that you can't remember or don't know something like the German for "wood grain" (Holzfaser) or the Mandarin for "railyard" (火車場) or the French for "Y'all be quiet!" (Taisez-vous!) and--worse--there's no one around you can ask and you're at least a half-hour from all your reference works?

And I've had conversations in Spanish where I've had to use, "esa cosa que se usa para ...," simply because I've completely blanked on a rediculously simple word.
