Ni xiede bucuo! (Sorry, too tired right now to switch my Mac over to the Chinese input palette.)

Wow, this really is an interesting journal. First you force me to think about my own language, and now you're giving me a chance to brush up on my Chinese...

I haven't spoken Chinese for a while, and may have lost touch with the language somewhat, but I was wondering, is dajiamen for "everyone" proper Chinese these days? I never heard that in Taiwan. Don't dajia and dou imply enough of a plural that you can leave out the men? This is not meant as a criticism; I'm just genuinely curious.

Damnit, why do you point this out now after I've already sealed the envelope? Da4jia1men is an error; I had hui3shi4men, but my teacher suggested I change it to da4jia1 and obviously I forgot to delete a character. Wo3 na4me dai1dai1!

Bie2 zhao2ji2. It's an easy mistake to make. I do it all the time when correcting my own translations. And the rest of the letter looks pretty good. :-)

Does "客人都離,又寧靜" look okay? Thinking about it later, I wondered if I should've tacked on a 了 at the end for good measure.

Yes, I think I would have gone for the le. In fact, I think I would have added one to the first half of the sentence, as well. Ke4ren2 dou1 li2 sounds a bit funny to me. But as I said, my Chinese is a bit rusty. :-)
