Be thankful it didn't happen to you
A friend of a friend, who just recently found work out here, is staying with him and his roommate until she can move into her place. Last Sunday, she went out drinking until all hours. When she came back, she threw up EVERYWHERE--on the shag carpeting, all over the bathroom (including the white linens), in the kitchen, you name it. Obviously, it was red wine she'd been drinking. How did K know this? SHE DIDN'T CLEAN UP ANY OF IT! She just went to bed, leaving him to discover patches of dried vomit in the morning. He'd been sick, by the way, but that didn't stop him from going out and renting a steam cleaner to try to salvage the carpets. He used the largest tank of cleaning fluid they had, but he still couldn't get the stains or the smell up completely.
His other roommate is ex-army. Whenever either of them comes home, she ducks into the guest room. Almost a week and she hasn't even apologised, much less offered restitution. K. has had it--tonight, she gets read the riot act and shown the door.
