If anyone's interested, a discussion of the needfulness of understanding religious convictions and the people who hold them has broken out in bitterlawngnome's latest entry. By all means, take a gander.

By necessity, I'm going to have to overcome my recent bout of inward-directedness soon. The 'rents are in town for the weekend and it seems there's another wedding-related family crisis brewing. This shouldn't prevent us from visiting the Korean Street Festival on Bryn Mawr tomorrow. It's going head-to-head with the Tibetan festival up in West Rogers Park, which features a gigantic sand mandala. And next weekend is the Ginza Festival at Midwest Buddhist Temple, which is always worth checking out.
