Should we talk about the weather?

The same rain that left rollick soaked to the skin and then some last night merely forced me to contend with a stuffy house while it lashed the windows. I was still up, having spent the bulk of the evening cleaning up my bedroom, and got them closed in no time. Sadly, only one really dramatic lightning strike for my entertainment.

It's cooler today, but the humidity's still bad. I have a two-fan cooling system in the bedroom (one in the doorway to draw the warm air out, one near the window to draw cool air in and blow it on me), but even with the windows open it wasn't working. I couldn't understand it; standing near the window, I could feel the coolness outside but it refused to be coaxed more than a few inches into my room. This had better change tonight or I'm in danger of being suffocated by my new bed. (I've been warned that memory foam sleeps very hot for the first few months; damn me for vacilating all winter!).

I've been promised punctuality from the deliverymen so I'd better skedaddle to meet them. I just can't imagine how different my life will be once I'm no longer sleeping on a few inches of compacted cotton batting. I already got a foretaste with my new "body pillow", which slides between my legs to keep my pelvis aligned. (It's kind of like a stuffed boyfriend, only without any limbs. And it doesn't snore, smoke, fart, or hog the bed. Come to think of it, it's nothing like a boyfriend at all.) No more sore hips in the morning!
