I just found out I will have to delay my lunch because the Ecology of Design students are coming. (More on that once I can ridicule them based on direct experience instead of reputation and projection.) I have a little time to kill before they get here, so let me kill it on LJ.

First of all, I finally added some new people to my Friends list. I generally delay this as long as possible, as I don't want any drama from Friending someone and then deFriending them. [livejournal.com profile] foodpoisoningsf is an exception. Something tells me I've been seeing comments from him for months, but I didn't really take notice until the icon of him in chef's whites appeared. Now I am smitten! However, I did check out his last twenty entries to ascertain that the content/survey ratio was outrageously high before adding him, so it's not like I'm totally shallow!

Second, who can tell me what the source was for the extended travel montage homage in last night's Simpson's? It was so evocative, yet I cannot place it!

Another thing one notices from watching Fox's Sunday Night lineup for the first time in months and months: David Anthony Higgins has lost hella weight, hasn't he? Also, although I sorely miss the eye candy from Francis' logging camp days, the scenery on the ranch is looking up.

Between No Doubt covering Talk Talk and Jessica Simpson covering Berlin, it's like the music of my youth is back and more mediocre than ever!

Edit: Holy crap! I have to discover, through perusing a stranger's Friend list, that my first ex is on liveJournal and has been for more than a year? People, I rely on you to keep me informed!

I was wondering that myself. I was thinking maybe Catch Me If You Can...I haven't seen it yet, so wasn't sure, but it seems like that might have had that modern retro feel thrown in, just due to the subject matter.

Yeah, it was a ringer for the title sequence of Catch Me If You Can...

No Doubt made "It's My Life" even more whiny, ugh!

Jessica Simpson covering Berlin

You need to see the live version she performed at MTV Spring Break where she smiles after every single phrase for the full effect.

It's enough to make you nostalgic for Kylie Minogue's "Locomotion"!

Last night at the movie theatre I heard Tom Jones singing "Burning Down the House." He got away with it because he's Tom Jones, but only just.

I am too lazy to check if someone already answered this. It is the Leo Di Caprio film Catch Me if you can

Francis' wife is also becoming a little more bossommy. I am certain you will correct my spelling on that but like I said in the subject I am feeling lethargic today.

I am certain I will not! I admit, I didn't really notice her bossoms because, in every scene where she appeared, I was straining for a good look at the farmhand with a full beard!

Well someone never sent me the "People Da Dated" chart, so ... yeah. ^_-

I think it was the beachhead scene from Apocalypse Now.

Seriously, go see Catch Me if you can. Not since the water tower has Lenny acquited himself so well in an acting role.

The "serious" list is very short:

[livejournal.com profile] owenthomas
Nuphy
[livejournal.com profile] monshu

The "casual" list would require research. I shudder to think how many ex-tricks a little more traipsing around LJ would turn up!
