Hollow whine
Why do I still feel like I'm fighting off a cold? I was so good this weekend--I didn't stay out to all hours, I didn't kiss any strange men or eat anything I didn't recognise--and yet I could barely drag my ass out of bed this morning. At lunch, I went looking for soup. Stupidly, I headed toward downtown before realising my best bet was Joy Yee. My course correction took me past Sashimi Sashimi, so I ducked in and ordered their udon instead. Never again! Overcooked, overspiced, plain nasty. I would've sent it back if only I hadn't been feeling too run down to deal with the hassle. Downing that lump of wasabi wasn't my swiftest choice ever. I thought it would clear my sinuses, but all it did was give me epic heartburn.
So my quiet Halloween continues. No parade, no burger night, just scary movies at home. Yesterday I told our neighbour across the intersection to expect me trick-or-treating for DVDs. He offered Bride of Frankenstein, but I might just lump it and go for American Horror Story on OnDemand. All I want is to be better by the weekend. We've got our ex-lodger and his new boss/
monshu's old one coming for dinner on Saturday and then it's bear-o-rama once more. I'm trying not to think of the cuties who have previously suggested to me they might stop by; it would only add to my miseries if I ultimately have to pull the plug.
