belgo-luxembourgeoise-néerlandaise
Actually saw this on a document at work. Googling to confirm the spelling, I also turned up "germano-luxembourgo-belgo-néerlandaise" and "belgo-franco-luxembourgo-israélo-palestinienne". But neither of these has the feature I find most intriguing in the original, namely the double inflection. That is, I would've expected *belgo-luxembourgo-néerlandaise, with pseudo-classical linking vowels after each of the first two elements.

  1. Sunday Sabzi polo ba mahi to celebrate Nowruz at Masouleh. Whitefish, unfortunately, but the polo was first-rate and there was a bonus slice of kuku sabzi. Besides, we really went for the atmosphere. Service was the worst we've ever had there, which is to say it wouldn't even provoke comment at most eateries. I'm just grateful they were open; essentially, we turned up at their place on Christmas Day and said "feed me". Wish I knew the name of the fig cookie they gave me for dessert!
  2. Saturday Nuphy wanted to go to Greek Islands before Hercules, and I had to admit the justness of that. I went for the lamb riblets, mainly because I'd never seen such a dish on a menu before, and they were tasty but too fatty.
  3. Friday Took [livejournal.com profile] lucentnotion to Hana on Sheridan because he'd been wondering about it. I'd forgotten the name and had to pass by the place three times before I spotted it. As I told him, it's nothing at all special, but it's perfectly decent sushi and the place is cozy. And crowded for once--[livejournal.com profile] monshu and I have been there on a Friday before and wondered how they stay in business, but I'd say they're doing all right.
  4. Thursday My turn to make dinner for a change and I wanted to use the rest botifarra we'd picked up at Ibérico the week before. It was the wrong kind for faves a la catalana and Andrews' recipe for mongetes amb botifarra seemed pointless to me insofar as the beans and sausage were cooked separately. So I went with Casas' butifarra con setas instead. No wild mushrooms available, but it turned out fine with baby portos. Judging by the Old Man's reaction, next time we will have to buy a lot more botifarra and freeze it.
  5. Wednesday [livejournal.com profile] monshu thought he'd be late because of work nonsense, so I met up with [livejournal.com profile] cuore_felice42 in Andersonville. My original plan was Great Lake for their flammenkuchen, but I was worried about the wait so I suggested Vincent next door. I had the dish I'd been curious about ever since le Chenu and I had first had a glance at the menu sometime last summer. (We meant to return for dinner, but then that damn fracture happened.) So now I can say I've had snert--or at least some sort of iteration of it. To be honest, I would've been more pleased with it if there had been about half as much. The fried fish laid on top of it was flawless, however.
Technically, I've had a couple suppers since the time I conceived of this post. [livejournal.com profile] monshu took the white beans with sausage he made last night and thinned it with some broth to make a hearty soup. Nice, but the side of broccoli with garlic, shallots, and sauteed mushrooms was awesome. That will make a great frittata!
