(no subject)

There may have been some hunks of meat swimming in it and a couple slice of bread undergirding it all, but essentially my lunch today was a dinnerplate covered in gravy. Now, a major component of this gravy was (at my suggestion!) a purée of roasted root vegetables and mushrooms so it's not quite as unhealthy as it sounds. And yet: plateful of gravy.

I'm falling into that trap of updating on the days when nothing is happening and never getting around to it on the days when I really have some activities to report on, I know, but that's the hazard of a leisure blog. We were going to go out and do things today, but the grey skies and cool temperatures (sound familiar?) made the lure of siesta inescapable.

I still have plans to get out, though. One of Nuphy's favourite dancers at the Unlucky Horseshow is moving on tonight, so he plans to be there to wish him good luck making it in Las Vegas. I said I'd meet him for dinner before hieing myself off to Market Days. (My clever plan was to arrive at evening in order to avoid sunburn and heat exhaustion; now it's rather looking like I might need a parka.)
