Best Quote: "No straight guy could ever get a blowjob while eating chicken!"
Latest Reason Why
monshu Is the Greatest Boyfriend Ever: Fresh, warm, pecan pie. With vanilla ice cream and homemade crust!
Greatest Success: I don't know whether this should be the Korean dictionary for $16, finding the Chinese text of
monshu's newest acquisition in seconds on the Internet, or scoring gifts for three or four people on my list plus St. Nick's Day sweets for all my workers.
Biggest Dissappointment: Some local distributor got into a spat with Pedro Ordóñez meaning that Sam's is not carrying any of his brands anymore. No more Borsao! No more Muga! I am now completely dependent on my brother's good offices when it comes to acquiring Spain's finest wines.
Most serendipitous encounter: As nice as it was to see Roberto at Transitions, we suspected he would be there. It's exactly not a surprise to see the Marzipan Fiend at the Christkindlmarkt, but I could never have predicted that
princeofcairo and I would bump into him precisely when stopping for a bite and a pint before the opera. The merciless mockery that followed, however, was completely inevitable.
(Anyone else notice that every single one of these entries includes mention of food? Sadly predictable!)

I'm gonna take that as a challenge and report back. :-)

I beg to differ.

I'll throw my two cents in here, and admit that, yes, I would find it difficult. But for some reason, I wonder whether there would be a difference if the chicken were fried or baked?
I need to go to Sam's sometime. Apparently one of my old teachers from Norman High School now works there, and is their expert on Chardonnay.
sure complain about "Spanish" wines
I miss them sooooo much.

I'm surprised someplace near you doesn't carry these.

austrio-hungarian wines
1/2 bottles of Trochenberanauslase (SP?) are well over $100. Most Beranauslase (sp) are in the same price range for regular bottles. Neither of these prices are for really good wines...just ordinary.
Tokay's are unheard of out hear. This is a BIG wine producing state so dealers are wont to secure things that compete with california wines. What's a fella to do? Muscats? Many local and they aren't too bad.
But the others are as scarce as Tops in SF...
But I dream about the others, with great fondness.

My sources do tell me Pedro is a bit of an asshole, so I'm not surprised. I, in turn, am dependant on my fantabolous FIL for my supply. But as long as I can keep this ragtag supply line open, I shall. The Borsao will continue to flow!
