For those of you who weren't paying attention when this first came around (not that that's an excuse; my journal is like the Holy Writ: You should spend at least an hour a day pouring over its wisdom), here's the entry where I linked to pictures of my apartment. The Great Red Wall is to be seen in the shot with the conclave of the tutelary spirits. I imagine we'll have better pictures after tomorrow's dinner.

Grandma died yesterday morning. I didn't expect it to bum me out as much as it did. She's been ailing for years--we were half expecting her to go last year around Christmastime. And, as Dad keeps saying, "she's been dead for years" in the sense that Alzheimer's has obliterated her personality. All in all, last night was one big annoyance. I didn't start feeling better until I called up bunj and we had an oddball chat wherein I said any morbid thing that came to mind. Each of us is middle-named after a grandparent and his is the last still alive.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. My grandmother's situation was similar--she was in her 90's and had severe dementia and tons of health problems--but I was also more upset than I expected to be when she died.
