Leftovers

Oh, one other thing to hold against that stupid show I watched on Sunday night: It influenced my dreams, leading to the prominent featuring of a Roma prostitute. (In the show, the whores were Bosnian, so I suspect that detail comes from an article I read that day about the plans of a Czech city to wall off a predominately Roma-occupied housing estate from their predominately Bohemian neighbours. In this day and age!) There were compensations, though, especially a very vivid guest appearance by [livejournal.com profile] grunter's pert butt. All in all, I would've been better off meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] spookyfruit after the pie was gone.

Last night I was with Nuphy and ended up watching an episode of "Frazer". It's not bad now that Joe Keenan's back, but I've never regained the interest I had before Niles and Daphne got married. Before that plot twist, they were two characters I had a lot of regard for, but the that was handled just made them seem like unfeeling jerks. He's hoping to be released by the end of the week, but I wonder how easy it's going to be for him to get by on his own. He's still on IV (which at least obviates the need to go food shopping) and rather weak. It's going to be a dreary Thanksgiving for him if he's not back on solid food already!

Pet Peeve Outburst II

What the hell can't anyone spell Frasier? Only seven letters and it's easily the most consistently-misspelled teevee show name I see. I know it's unfair to say that anyone who makes an argument principally on the appeals of "Frazer" can't be very familiar with them or with Joe Keenan, but it's what I think, every time. Would you listen to someone who doesn't know that "Skin" has already been cancelled? That that guy on "Still Standing" has such a bad Chicago accent because he's actually the guy from the Full Monty, where he used his native accent?

:)

Obviously, you didn't see last night's episode. Niles' wife brings notoriety to the family by murdering her beau and Frasier's name ends up misspelled in the newspaper. Thus, the endtitle for one of the segments is "'Frazer' with a 'z'".

Guess you had to be there...

The only way to win is not to play.

She got a gaffe out of me after all. It's Niles' ex-wife, not his (current) wife, who commits murder.

If he isn't on solid food, let me know, and I will go to Illuminations and buy him the pomegranate, vanilla nutmeg, cranberry orange, Mandarin fig, mulled wine, apple cider, coffee and cream, maple sugar, and pumpkin pie scented candles.

I can't quite determine whether that's an act of surpassing kindness or one of inexplicable cruelty...

Me either, but if he likes the idea, then it's the former.
