It was a dirty rain. Heavy drops loosened the soil, washing it over sidewalks and into the streets. The receding waters left behind slicks of muck and coalesced into brown puddles whose sediment refused to settle. The hasty fill over the sewer lines on Arthur Avenue was badly scoured out in places and sections of the parkway were flooded with runoff which had no drains to flow into.

We occasionally have real "dirty rain" which is laden with dust from the Sahara. It covers everything and the color is distinct from the local sand which is derived from granite.

I didn't. The language of my interface has always been German. You never noticed it before because you were always logged in to comment, so it displayed in your choice of language.
