The purchase marches on! Yesterday, I stayed home and made phone calls to ensure that everyone was on track. Inspection Thursday, fine, but have the appraisers been scheduled? The title search engaged? When do I get to see the condo documents? (I have to say, I find it odd that I'm expected to make a commitment to join an association before I get to see how they work, but I suppose the alternative is revealing private business affairs to anyone who walks in off the street.)
More current #1 cause for concern is that I have two days between closing and when I have to vacate my apartment. And those two days are a weekend. A holiday weekend. If the movers
monshu recommended (called, no response) can't do it, well, can anyone make alternative recommendations? My crap wouldn't fill a 10' x 10' storage locker (I know because I've looked into that as a possible stopgap measure), so I don't need someone with a huge truck and a four-hour minimum.

BTW, while I was looking in the Yellow Pages for the phone number, I saw some ads for movers which claim to specialize in small moves. (Microship: 800-479-7447 and Minimoves: 800-300-6683) I know nothing about them, but if it turns out that Adell and other regular movers have minimum charges that are too high, it might be worth looking into those.
