My recommendation is to take up knitting. Having something warm in your lap that's not a pointy-ended cat is a nice thing in autumn. Also, men have better knitting retreats. There's fire. And beer. I start delineating early and late autumn by when the locusts go bare, but maples are a good line as well. Hugs, Gwyn
