The story of my life I never knew
For whatever reason (I find it's best not to question too closely), my older brother is trying to reconstruct the rough chronology of our family life. When he came to me, I told him I always go by what grade I was in: Kindergarten in Maryland, primary school in St. Louis, secondary in Troy, and so forth. But that only takes you back so far, so he called on my mother for earlier dates and this is a portion of what she sent him:
- Ames Iowa: July 1969 – August 1971 {Da was 1 yr old when we moved}
- Theodore Ave, Baltimore: August 1971 – August 1973 {We bought the house in Feb but didn’t move until after [your sister] was 1 yr old, we celebrated a joint [you/Da] birthday here before moving; first time I ever made the jello cake.]
- Leppo Lane, Finksburg: August 1973 – end of June 1976 {you had afternoon kindergarten and full day 1st grade here}
- Dale Ave, St. Louis: July 1976 – October 1980 {We went to the Arch for 4th of July 200th birthday and you were separated from us as we went to see a fire engine. [Your father] graduated in 1979 and spent a year commuting to Troy before we found a house and moved. You all started the 1980 school year in Troy and I worked on insulating the house until we were able to move in Oct.}
