Buama adamhach clúmhach uaine
There's such a treasure trove of dubious practice sentences in Bun-Ghaeilge, part of me regrets not posting more as I went along. Either you'd all be completely sick of examples by now or you'd all have memorised at least one curious phrase to deploy in order to surprise and impress your friends. This may be the best one yet:
Le roicéid a throid siad, ar an ábhar go ndúirt ceann na bhfórsaí leo nach mbeadh cead acu úirlisí adamhacha a úsáid. "They fought with rockets because the head of the forces told them they might not use atomic instruments."Ever since they taught me the word for "atomic", I've been wondering how I was ever going to work it into conversation. Now that's sorted!
