Its because of an ice fall in late February fall of 1987 that damaged tendons in my right leg/knee/hip that gave me the impetus to move to SF. I still miss Chicago though... the heat, the Spring, the Fall, the Balkan Grocery stores. I think I actually miss the ethnic shopping more than anything. Yes, there are wonderful Asian markets here, but the slavic world... especially the Balkan World are woefully under represented.
I couldn't find Serbian Kruskovac or Silvovitsa out here and the only on line source is a 'Croat" brand. I bought some and its flavour is actually weak... well, what can I say... its from Croatia. *sigh*
