Excellent Bryn story!

muckefuckHeard this from a friend of mine (who, for obscure reasons, I will call Umm `Ata'allah). She was at the dress rehearsal for Thaïs (which she would be performing in if it weren't for the benighted judgement of some Lyric staff) and ended up sitting next to Bottone, the Anglo-Italian tenor from Sweeney. His character, Pirelli, is the first one murdered in the musical. All through the rehearsals, Bryn had been urging Bottone to aim his blood bag so as to really spatter him. "Get it all over my face! Get it in my eye!" It was something he never managed to do...
...until one night. He struck the Welshman in his left eye and, when he turned, his right ear. Bryn looked at him and hissed, "You bugger!"
Oh, did I mention the performace was miked? That Bryn's amplified comment could be heard in the auditorium. Tee-hee!
(Now I know why, when Sweeney murdered Pirelli the night I was in attendance, he turned his face away as he drew the razor across his throat.)
