Last week, I stopped by Big Chicks just to chat with a couple of my favourite employees, who were working the door. Talk about Katrina and the bungled response was inevitable and it was tricky to steer a path around their rage without assenting to points that I strongly disagreed with. It paid off, though, when after a couple of deft subject shifts I ended up hearing Sue's reminiscences of Key West "back in my straight days". She spent some time palling around with a spouse-supported adventurer who was trying to canoe from NYC to LA. The last she saw of him was a t.v. clip of his release from a Cuban prison after he strayed a little too close to that island. I promised to do a Google search in order to uncover what he's doing now, but that's the last mention I found either. It makes me wonder whether he eventually settled down or whether the next adventure (he was also talking about snowmobiling to Siberia) did him in.
You're an apologist for your party. I don't expect your posts to make sense because your positions are completely lacking in internal validity. I enjoy reading the writing of people with political views other than mine but yours are absolutely untenable and diaglog with you is not enlightening to me. What's more I find a gay republican to be a traitor, every bit as much as a Jewish Nazi. I don't want you commenting in my journal any more.I can't really complain, of course; as I told the guy, I read his journal for the judgementalness, not in spite of it. His posts were intelligently-enough written that I made the mistake of thinking he could handle a sounding board instead of an echo chamber. When will I ever learn?
