Are you remembering to pick the "PDA friendly" option when you go to livejournal.com?
The who in the what now? That didn't AFAIK exist when I set up my PDA bookmark last year. For that matter, I'm not seeing where the option is now. (Though as I mentioned, except for the occasional mega-text string the PDA browser seems to format LJ fine anyway.)
