Just received a piece of spam with the following text:
ago arlene uttermost winkle carpentry sprung acquitting virtuous corbel correspond stayed croupier chevy paste rwanda retardant when whoop lennox diffeomorphism plenum crew bonfire sandpile thereupon thoriate jingle whoever natal univariate flemish downward opulent detest vivaldi moist ahmadabad deane bludgeon martyrdom skimp dusky gourd inland deface upstair cadaverous profundity protozoan parochial vocal curl dun curious pessimist tweak blackman goldman tonsillitis card pollution manhattan devour alabamian sensor demagogue celery rectory
I can't think of a single context where you would find half these words together. They're all real, though, even diffeomorphism, which is some specialised bit of maths terminology.

Is this some kind of modernist poetry?

Speaking of unreal words, last night I dreamed of something called a coogle (with a short "oo" as in cook, not as in "Google). Anybody care to guess what it was?

Is that the latest new designer crossbreed?

It could become the pit bull of the 00's!

It's designed to fool spam filters that filter on the basis of word frequency and vocabulary. These stings of obscure unique words rack up points on the basis of their lack of repetition and lexical rarity. So they can stick in BUY V1AGRA NOW! and still slip through the filter.

I suspected that, but I couldn't figure how until [livejournal.com profile] bitterlawngnome's explanation. Also, I found it bizarre that this was the only text in the body of the message.

"koogle" used to be a sweet hazlenut spread that set up such an epidemic of projectile vomiting that it was the only foodstuff in my 25 year teaching career to be banned from lunchboxes.

So may I bludgeon with my dusky gourd your cadaveroud protozoan profundity, or would you rather I devoured and defaced your winkled virtuous corbel until you tweaked?
