Am I actually posting to DW/LJ frequently enough these days to make it worthwhile to do an old-fashioned quicksummary post? I think so!
  • I've been fasting since last night for my colonoscopy tomorrow and I'm hangry af. This morning I could still joke about it; now food looks obscene to me and I hate everyone who's ever eaten any.
  • Pasillero is back today from NYC. Apparently thinking of Chicago got him missing me because we textbantered last night to the point where I had to be the one who said "baby needs sleep". So, yay, my desirability to men has been revalidated.
  • Yesterday we got a new fence installed at the condo. I was nervous because I got stuck taking lead due to my advocacy for metal, but it looks terrific. Only problem is that we misunderstood the salesperson's explanation of the fancy Swedish locks and discovered that they don't lock automatically, which means we might need to have them modified because my condomates are a bunch of dizzy flakeburgers.
  • I booked tickets to St Louis which is something I'd been putting off since I don't want to deal with my father's mortality. If I keep the booking, I'll be there the first weekend in October. I was tempted to go later since I hate missing any part of Chicago's best season but that just seems too chancy at this point.
  • Sunday was, in its own quiet way, a perfect day and I wish I'd written something about that. I went to the beach since I knew it would probably be the last really good weekend for that (this weekend we'll have 20°C) and met up with Uncle Betty, who managed to be nice to his ex's boyfriend for the first time in three years. I stayed after he'd left to watch the sunset while the gays frolicked in the surf. Totally worth the mosquito bites.
