Spring creeps in
Today spring arrived in the form of four fat robins that were in no hurry to evade me as I tromped past them. Sure, there's still some snow on the ground in places, but only where it can crouch down and hide. On my way back from lunch I cut through an area where I knew I'd find snowdrops sprouting. A long drink of the warm temperature this weekend and they'll be in full bloom for me next week.
That was the highlight of my day. The rest of it was dull flight from one responsibility to another. Several times I thought the exhaustion and lack of attention on my face must be unmistakable, but the colleague with me kept banging on unthwarted. I cancelled lunch with my best pal and choked down my sushi quickly so I could buy a book for
monshu. But the proprietor has started calling me by my nickname so at least I took the time to learn she is called "Rong".
