Short takes

• The iPhone is fixed! Who knows what its problem was, but it thought it had 11 more Gb of memory tied up than it actually did. Somehow, our neighbour who works at the Genius Bar was able to get it to work merely by touching it, since I didn't see him try a thing I hadn't tried already. He was as mystified as me, which is so not in the least reassuring.
• I haven't posted about this yet because I wasn't sure it was going to come off, but I looked at next month's iBAM schedule and saw myself listed on the panel discussing the question, "Is the Irish language important?" At least I assume that "Boyle's Friend" refers to me, since it was my friend Boyle who asked me to be on it. (Totally allays any misgivings I had about being underqualified and all.)
• So if you're wondering why I've been posting in Irish lately, that's the reason. I'm terrified about being uncovered as a fraud the moment I open my mouth, so I've got to do something to get in form. Really, I need a conversational partner, but good luck finding that on short notice.
• Cool overcast fall weather, why aren't I more happy to see you? Perhaps if I'd felt I'd gotten my fill of summer fun. But maybe I'd be a little bummer regardless.
• Things are actually getting interesting at work. I reported back on my first commission for my new boss and that seemed to go quite well. If only I could shake off my regrets about not getting people I could work with like this years ago.
• Two hour condo meeting on Tuesday. TWO HOURS. Worse, it started at 8 p.m. to accommodate one of the officers who then didn't even show up. The good news is that she's not an officer any more. Neither am I, though, and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
